Pinnochio Decoupage Box

From Etsy. Arrived today...

This ONE-OF-A-KIND decoupaged box features the well-known fairy tale "Pinocchio," by Carlo Collodi. It tells the story of Pinocchio, a wooden boy, carved by Gepetto, a lonely old man. The ungrateful Pinocchio runs away instead of going to school and gets into trouble with unsavory characters. When he finally meets a lovely fairy to help him, he lies to her, which causes his nose to grow. His lesson learned, she grants him his wish to be a "real boy." Decoupaged inside as well as out, top as well as bottom, this box will hold your secrets (and lies) as well as trinkets and tie-clips. . . .

Measures 9" x 9" x 2.5"

Text and illustrations are from "Pinocchio" a 1954 Wonder Book, illustrated by Art Sieden

Artist is Bellhorse: Hi! I'm a small-town Iowan living and working in suburban Chicagoland with my punk-rocker husband and our three crazy cats.

I worked for about 20 years in educational publishing (as an editor and writer), mostly on literature textbooks. When I got laid off in March, I decided to pursue a business that combined my love of literature, animals, paper crafts, and vintage items.

I have help putting together my vintage gift baskets from my good friend and fellow bibliophile Cate (Thanks, Cate!).
